The Talos L120C TEM is once again operational.

The magnetic card key reader for B116 Bourns Hall has been replaced by facilitieswith a proxy card reader.
To get your access to B116 Bourns re-activated you must provide to us the
proxy ID card number, which is a 5 digit code on the back of your UCR ID card.
If your UCR ID card does not have a 5 digit code on the back you must get
a new R’card and send the new code to bozhilov@ucr.edu so that your card access is activated.

Work Procedures for CFAMM.
1. CFAMM is open now to all users.
2. A person experiencing any cold symptoms, cough, headache, fever, or upset stomach should not come to CFAMM.
3. Online COVID-19 prevention training is required for UCR staff, students and faculty before returning to campus and entering any CFAMM lab space or office.
4. When in any CFAMM lab or office space face masks and disposable single-use surgical gloves must be worn at all times.
5. CFAMM lab/office space occupancy is limited to two persons per room at any one time. Any joint instrument session in any CFAMM lab space or office, that is attended by more than one person should be scheduled to incorporate at least a 15 minutes break for every one hour session.
6. CFAMM users and visitors are required to complete the COVID Screening Check if:
- They are reporting the result of a positive COVID-19 test
- They have COVID-like symptoms
- They were exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19
- They are reporting the completion of their required weekly COVID test (if unvaccinated).
7. Disinfecting 70% alcohol solution and wipes should be available in each instrument room and work area.
8. Any contact surfaces including but not limited to microscopes or other equipment controls, tools, computer mouses, keyboards, and devices must be disinfected by wiping clean with 70% alcohol solution before start and after conclusion of each instrument session.

Users who want to use the sputter coater, the CPD, the diamond saw or any other
sample prep instrument must book time in TRACS by reserving "Ancillary Equipment"
To record in TRACS the use of any of the ancillary equipment, record it under the "Services"
option and select the instrument used.
Do not record it under "Ancillary Equipment"

The Mira3 SEM is not operational until further notice.

Sessions on any CFAMM resource including electron microscopes,
ancillary equipment or other services must be recorded in the
TRACS system (http://tracs.ucr.edu) within one hour of concluding
the session/service.
Failure to record a session or a service will
result in $80 penalty charge per incident.
