The Employment Development Department (EDD), in coordination
with the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency (LWDA), announces
the availability of up to $10 million in Workforce Innovation and
Opportunity Act (WIOA) Governor's Discretionary funds for the Farmworkers
Advancement Program (FAP) PY 26-27 SFP.

The FAP PY 26-27 funds will be awarded to projects that
focus on farmworker needs at the regional level by offering essential skills
and upskilling training to advance in the agricultural industry and/or prepare
for opportunities outside the agricultural sector. FAP programs will position
farmworkers to access good-quality jobs, including those that pay
family-sustaining wages, offer benefits, provide predictable hours, offer
opportunities for career advancement, and promote worker voice. Projects will
also provide wraparound support and resources to build skills, prevent job
loss, and lay the foundation for upward mobility. Programs are encouraged to
incorporate lessons learned from previous FAP rounds, including culturally
responsive and bilingual training approaches and integrated navigation models
that strengthen connections between training and job placement. The FAP
grant-funded programs will continue to assist with referrals to health,
housing, educational resources, and career and financial coaching.

Required Matching Funds? No. However, applicants must
demonstrate the ability to leverage at least 20 percent of their budget with
leveraged resources from other sources.

Awards: Up to $1M
