The Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) seeks nominations for its 2024 New Innovator in Food and Agriculture Research Award (NIA). The NIA Innovator in Food & Agriculture Research Award provides early-career scientists the investment needed to propel them into successful research careers.
FFAR anticipates funding no more than ten (10) awards in the FFAR Challenge Areas below or FFAR’s initiative to address climate change, AgMission:
- Advanced Animal Systems
Health-Agriculture Nexus
Next Generation Crops
Soil Health
Sustainable Water Management
Urban Food Systems
Eligibility: Faculty members in a tenure-track position no longer than three years and who are within eight years of receiving their Ph.D. Eligible candidates must also conduct research that aligns with our Challenge Areas.
Anticipated Award Duration: up to 36 months
Amount per award: $150,000/year for up to 3 years.
Matching funds: Not required, but are encouraged. Lack of matching funds will not influence the review of the application.
